Aleisha's giveaway and the Olympics

My friend, Aleisha is doing a fun giveaway on her blog (a free Joshua Radin download).  I thought I would help her out by suggesting her blog to all of you.  She is a great photographer and posts amazing pictures!  She also posts fun thoughts, crafts, etc.  In short, her blog is a lot better than mine.  So, if you have a second pop over there, follow her, and enter the contest.

On another note, who is watching the Olympics!?   I'm loving them!  Have you guys ever watched handball? It's so great!  It's basically a combination of every sport ever.  They handle the ball with their hands (duh) and dribble occasionally like basketball, they aim for a goal that looks a lot like a soccer goal, they have penalty shots like hockey.  Guys, just try to catch a game.  I love it.  I also love watching women's beach volleyball.  Man, the American team is killing it!!

Things that don't belong on Facebook

Here are some things that people post on Facebook that I wish they wouldn't:

1. "Happy Birthday to my sweetest one year old baby who can't read and is most definitely on facebook.  I love you so much, and instead of spending time with you I'm going to tell facebook how much I love you."

2.  "I am dilated to a ____ and fully effaced."  Please just don't.

3.  "I have the best husband ever!  I love him so much!  If I don't post it on facebook it isn't real love."

4.  "My cute little baby just pooped all over my lap."  Babies poop.  And facebook doesn't need to know.

5.  "Man!  My workouts are getting so hard, but it's so worth it.  I am losing so much weight! Please congratulate me!"  Working out and not telling facebook is ok.

6.  "Sometimes life just doesn't go the way you want it to... *sigh*"  Please don't fish for pity on facebook.

What are some of your facebook pet peeves?

Let's talk about this Olsen Twins clip

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFpMR-cf1Uk

Watch this clip.  Let's talk about a few things.

1.  Troain Bellisario was in an Olsen Twins movie.  She now plays Spencer on Pretty Little Liars.  Step up?  Try a whole flight.

2.  There is a bag of 3D Doritos on the table in the scene.  Does anyone else miss these?

3.  I'm glad that boy made her the hero.  She probably deserved it or something.  It's not everyday that one of the Olsen Twins gets to be the hero in a movie... oh wait...

4.  I'm getting nostalgic for the 90s.  Will someone bring me some Fruit Strip Gum and Squeeze-Its?

It's about time...

I didn't mean to ignore my blog for the past 9 months.  It just happened.  I got busy.  I did student teaching, I graduated from USU, I helped my mom and her siblings plan 2 family reunions, I worked at the daycare, I got  an account on Twitter, I lost my grandpa Dahl to pancreatic cancer, I had lunch with friends, I had dinner with friends, I watched (am still watching) as my family got (gets) a new kitchen, I looked (am still looking) for jobs, I did a lot of crap.  I want to get back into posting.  For my own sanity.  Today, to help me us all dive back in to Allison's life via blog I am going to present you with my life according to pictures on my phone:

I made homemade donuts... around last October  or November
I saw this at the local mall... in November or December-ish... really!?

We went somewhere in the car and my sister took my phone.
I made my own gift bag out of a newspaper.

We went somewhere else in the car and my sister took my phone again.
I made this little guy out of a pair of gloves.

This was a classroom management strategy that I used in my student teaching.
Delicious things from an adorable little bakery in St. George.  Also... my  white-as-the-snow legs.
The 14 day mark in Aleisha and my Pretty Little Liars countdown.

This is what my night looked like the night the third season of
PLL aired on TV and the second season came out on DVD.
Built this sweet train track for a kid at work.  Took a picture so
I could remember how to do it.  I don't remember how to do it.
Went to the Katy Perry movie with my sister.
Movie theaters are too dark for phone pics.

I was playing basketball in my driveway.  I made a shot.  It hit the rim.
The hoop and part of the backboard came crashing down.  Game over.

Well, that's a quick way to catch up.  If I actually used my phone to take pictures ever this might have been a more exciting post.  From now on I'm not just going to post about life events, although I will post about those as often as they happen.  I will also be posting random things like reviews of PLL episodes, things I find on Pintrest, tutorials of projects (if and when I do a project and actually document it), etc.   I don't have a teaching job yet, so I may find myself with some time to blog.  Who knows?  Anyway, life is good.

Ups and Downs

Life is full of ups and downs. I've had my fair share lately, but I have good people to get me through it.

Sometimes all it takes...

is good friends, good roommates, dinner at Angie's, frozen yogurt, a pirate cowboy, a hug.

Life might not be perfect, but life is good.

It Sucks When...

-Someone you thought you were close to won't give you the time of day anymore.
-You've gained weight.
-You can't think of enough ideas for your preschool unit.
-You want and need to cry but it just won't come.
-You have to get along and work with someone you don't see eye-to-eye with at all.
-You feel like you can't do anything right.
-You have disturbing dreams.
-Children you know are suffering and there's nothing you can do about it.
-You read a blog post that is all complaints. Sorry guys. Thanks for reading though. I needed to get that out today.
